Above all other animals, humans are the most incapable of fending for themselves.
I remember watching or reading about this - look it up and prove me wrong, but I read that humans are THE neediest of animals, when born. Mares and camels get up within hours. Baby birds are flying within months? Human babies need YEARS of care - imagine a 3-year-old on their own? Not for long.
As humans we - like puppies - are bred to be cute. The cutest little lovable things survive. Because they are cared for by someone who wants to help enough to share resources - THEY have needs, too.
Someone decided to give you EXTRA food. Shelter. Water. Care. Hopefully, love (unconditional, if possible). Hopefully you got to get a “secure attachment.”
Either way, someone (likely many) cared for you enough to keep you alive.
This does not mean you owe anyone thanks (although you likely do); this means you HAVE NEEDS.
You are human, yes? Then, you have needs.
Full stop.
